Ukraine and New Zealand discussed cooperation in the production of maritime drones

In Kyiv, the Minister of Defense of Ukraine Denys Shmyhal met with his New Zealand counterpart Judith Collins.
Ukraine is deepening defense cooperation with New Zealand. Denys Shmyhal announced this on his Facebook page.
The Ukrainian side informed the New Zealand delegation about the situation on the front and the key needs of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. The prospects for the production of naval drones and the priorities of bilateral cooperation in the defense sector were discussed separately.

Other topics included preparations for concluding a bilateral security agreement, New Zealand’s participation in the “Coalition of the Willing” and humanitarian projects. Ukraine offered Wellington to join in financing rehabilitation programs for military and civilian personnel released from Russian captivity.
The Minister also thanked New Zealand for the participation of instructors in the Interflex training program for Ukrainian military personnel and for assistance in countering the Russian “shadow fleet”. Separately, he stressed the need to increase sanctions pressure, in particular on the issue of confiscating frozen Russian assets.

The day before, USM reported that Canada had lowered the price cap for Russian oil. It could mean a loss of up to $200 million in monthly income for Russia.
