Ukraine and Norway agreed on “transport visa-free”
The Ministry of Infrastructure of Ukraine and the Ministry of Transport of Norway signed a protocol on “transport visa-free”.
The Ministry of Development of Communities, Territories and Infrastructure signed a protocol with the Ministry of Transport of Norway on “transport visa-free”, the Ukrainian ministry reported .
The protocol provides an opportunity to carry out cargo transportation without permits. It will apply to trucks of the Euro-5 standard and above.
The simplified regime comes into effect on September 1 and will apply to both bilateral and transit transportation.
“We are expanding the list of countries with which “transport visa-free” actually operates – currently 35 countries. Previously, Ukrainian cargo carriers, regardless of the environmental class of vehicles, could travel to Norway only with a permit. Now, for trucks of the Euro-5 standard and above, unauthorized passage is introduced. Liberalization of freight transportation will be effective at least until June 30, 2024,” Deputy Minister Serhii Derkach emphasized.
To use “visa-free”, the carrier must have a certificate confirming the environmental class of the truck.
At the same time, it is also possible to carry out transportation for vehicles of a lower environmental class. During the meeting of the Ukrainian-Norwegian Mixed Commission, it was possible to agree on permits for the next year.
Ukrainian carriers will be able to obtain 250 universal permits and 50 from/to third countries.
