Ukraine and Romania want to improve transit in the direction of ports

Ministers of agrarian policy of both countries discussed the issue of improving transit in the direction of the ports of Giurgiulesti and Galati.

The Minister of Agrarian Policy and Food of Ukraine, Mykola Solsky, held an online meeting with the new Minister of Agriculture of Romania, Florin-Ionuc Barbu.

“The parties discussed the issue of cooperation in the agricultural sector between Ukraine and Romania. In particular, improving the transit of Ukrainian agricultural products through the territory of Romania and Moldova in the direction of the ports of Giurgiulesti and Galati,” the ministry said.

It will be recalled that in June it became known that the Romanian government will ask the EU to extend the restrictions on the import of Ukrainian agricultural products at least until the end of 2023.

As previously reported by USM, Romania may give its farmers priority access to the port of Constanta.
