Ukraine and Romania will strengthen the security of the Black Sea region

As part of the agreement with Ukraine, Romania will transfer the Patriot air defense system and help demining the Black Sea.

On July 12, Ukraine and Romania concluded a security agreement within the framework of the G7 Joint Declaration on Support for Ukraine. This was announced on the official website of the President of Ukraine.

According to the agreement, Romania will help Ukraine demine the Black Sea. The Black Sea country will also facilitate the most efficient transit of all necessary equipment to Ukraine through its territory.

In addition, Bucharest will transfer the Patriot system to Ukraine and help the F-16 training center to train Ukrainian pilots.

In the event that Russia tries to go on a full-scale offensive again, the document prescribes a mechanism for a 24-hour emergency response to aggression.

At the same time, Ukraine and Romania will strengthen cooperation in the fields of intelligence and counterintelligence, cyber security, information security, humanitarian demining and sanctions against the Russian Federation.

As USM recently wrote, about 400 mines may be drifting in the Black Sea.
