Ukraine and Saudi Arabia discussed the restoration of maritime infrastructure

The International Conference focused on raising funds for restoration, as well as strengthening cooperation in the field of shipbuilding and ship repair.
The Second International Conference on Sustainable Development of the Maritime Industry was held in Jeddah on September 3-4, the Ministry for Development of Communities and Territories of Ukraine eports.
During the event, Deputy Minister for Development of Communities and Territories Andriy Kashuba held a bilateral meeting with Deputy Minister of Transport and Logistics of Saudi Arabia, Rumaikh Al-Rumaikh.
They discussed raising funds for the restoration of Ukrainian maritime infrastructure, which suffered significant losses as a result of Russian aggression, as well as ways to strengthen cooperation in the field of shipbuilding and ship repair.
“We see significant potential in cooperation with Saudi Arabia, as their experience and Vision-2030 strategy can become a powerful basis for synergy with our Maritime Industry Restoration Plan,” said Andriy Kashuba.
The parties also touched upon issues of cooperation within the framework of the elections to the Council of the International Maritime Organization (IMO), which will be held in December 2025, and agreed to continue the dialogue on the implementation of joint initiatives.
Earlier, USM reported that Saudi Arabia is considering the possibility of investing in Ukrainian ports.
