Ukraine and Turkey introduce joint phytosanitary control of cargo
In case of detection of forged certificates, Turkey will immediately notify Ukraine by sending a copy of the document and specifying the offending exporter.
Turkey offered Ukraine to introduce joint phytosanitary control to check cargo, in particular grain crops. Latifundist writes about it.
This initiative was discussed during a meeting of representatives of the State Production and Consumer Service of Ukraine and the National Plant Protection Organization (NOZR) of Turkey.
The parties considered the possibility of implementing joint phytosanitary procedures and exchanging documents. Turkey offered to send a list and copies of phytosanitary certificates issued by Ukrainian inspectors to control cargo exported to Turkey.
In the case of detection of fake certificates, the NOZR of Turkey will promptly send a copy of such document to the State Production and Consumer Service along with a notification, indicating the exporter.
USM recently wrote that Turkey may introduce an additional quota for corn imports.
