Ukraine calls on the EU to add restrictions on Russian ports and captains to the 19th package of sanctions

The new 19th package of EU sanctions will likely include tankers of the Russian “shadow fleet”, insurers and flag registries.

This was announced by the presidential commissioner for remediation policy Vladislav Vlasyuk.

According to him, the new restrictions will include tankers of the so-called “shadow fleet” of Russia, as well as insurers and flag registries.

“We also ask for ports and captains, as well as managers. The wall ceiling remains unchanged. The new package of sanctions will include restrictions on individual Russian banks from our priorities, identified payment agents (not fiat currencies), a ban on transactions (this includes Deswift),” the commissioner for remediation policy noted.

In particular, the package will contain restrictions for supplier companies and manufacturers of critical components.

“There will be individual sanctions, in particular on child abductors. “We expect a provision against circumvention of sanctions, which could have been in the 11th package — bans on the export of certain categories of goods to certain countries. The topic of tariffs is also being discussed, as is the topic of sovereign assets of the Russian Federation. There is no consensus, but we are providing more analytics at the technical level, thereby encouraging rethinking at the political level,” Vladyslav Vlasyuk wrote.
