Ukraine defined the rules for connecting floating power plants during the war
National Commission for State Regulation in the Energy determined the rules for connecting floating power plants to the grid during wartime.
The National Commission for State Regulation in the Energy and Utilities Sector has approved special conditions for connecting floating power plants to power grids for the period of martial law, Ukrinform reports.
This decision was made at the meeting of the commission on October 22. According to it, by October 25, NEC “Ukrenergo” must provide the Ministry of Energy with information on the maximum level of power that the networks for connecting floating power plants will be able to provide. The connection of such stations during the war will be carried out on the basis of the permission of “Ukrenergo”, without the need to obtain a connection service.
They will also temporarily not require the installation of separate electricity metering units on floating power plants. At the same time, station owners must ensure commercial accounting of electricity supplied from external networks.
According to Ukrenergo estimates, floating power plants can add up to 250 MW of power to the grid.
We will remind, in the resolution of the Cabinet of Ministers of September 13, it was decided to build floating power plants in Ukraine.
Already at the beginning of October, it became known that the infrastructure for the first floating power plant is being built in Ukraine.
