Mykolaiv shipbuilding enterprise announced a boat made of innovative material, which is quite new in shipbuilding.
Gulfstream Company specializes in the manufacture of boats and small-tonnage vessels from HDPE – high-density polyethylene, which is a relatively new material in shipbuilding, Mykolaiv – City of Ships reports.
The company announced the GS7300 project boat, made of HDPE.
HDPE does not require painting or other maintenance, does not corrode and is extremely resistant to shock loads.
From this material, other companies in Ukraine have already manufactured the WB-6.B project boat for Ukrtransnafta, as well as a kayak for the SSO troops.
Probably, as the target audience for the new boat, the Gulfstream Company chose both the military and other government operators: rescuers, border guards, police, etc.
Since HDPE is a non-magnetic material, such vessels may be of interest to the military engaged in post-war demining of water areas.
Base, Taxi, Special, Patrol, Cabin configurations are offered on the manufacturer’s website.
The hull of the boat has trimaran contours with a central ski. The cockpit with self-draining water can be equipped according to the customer’s requirements.
The boat also received a certificate from the Italian maritime registry Registro italiano navale (RINA), which is recognized in Ukraine.
General characteristics of the boat:
• length — 7.4 m;
• width — 2.42 m;
• maximum useful carrying capacity, — 2.7 tons;
• crew — 12 people.
The first boat hull of the GS7300 project is already on the water. Currently, this is the largest HDPE vessel built in Ukraine. The Mykolaiv company offers vessels made of this material up to 24 m long.
