Ukraine elected to UN FAO Council: Russia and Belarus failed to get there

At a conference in Rome, Ukraine was elected to the Council of the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO).
This was announced by Foreign Minister Andriy Sybiha on the social network X.
“Another significant achievement of Ukraine in the UN system. This morning in Rome, Ukraine was elected to the FAO Council,” he wrote.
Sybiga stressed that despite the challenges caused by Russia’s full-scale aggression, Ukraine will continue to expand humanitarian efforts, in particular through the Grain from Ukraine program.
The minister also noted that Russia and Belarus were unable to get into the Council, “although they tried very hard.”
“Moscow must remain in international isolation. There is no place for the aggressor and his accomplice in the governing bodies of international organizations,” the Foreign Minister emphasized.
Earlier, USM reported that Ukraine had supplied more than 280 thousand tons of food within the framework of Grain from Ukraine.
