The export rate of Ukrainian agricultural products is lagging behind by 31.5% compared to the same period last year.

As of January 12, 2026, Ukraine exported 16.38 million tons of grains and legumes, which is 7.53 million tons, or 31.5%, less than for the same period last season. This was reported by the State Customs Service.

In the export structure, wheat accounts for 8.12 million tons — 2.21 million tons (-21.4%) less year-on-year. Corn supplies amounted to 6.69 million tons, which is 4.46 million tons (-40%) below last year’s level.

Barley exports — 1.32 million tons (-687 thousand tons; -34.2%). Rye is practically absent: 0.2 thousand tons (-98.1% year-on-year). 35.3 thousand tons of flour were shipped, which is 4.1 thousand tons (-10.4%) less than last year.

The overall export rate remains lower than last year against the backdrop of complex logistics and restrictions in port infrastructure.

The day before, USM wrote that USDA lowered the forecast for Ukrainian wheat exports to 14 million tons.
