Ukraine has started negotiations on the expansion of the Black Sea Initiative

Ukraine has started online negotiations with partners regarding the expansion of the Grain Agreement, in particular, to Mykolaiv Port.

Negotiations are currently underway regarding the extension of the Grain Initiative. The situation with the negotiations is quite complicated. Much depends on Ukrainian partners, Reuters reports with reference to a high-ranking source in the Government of Ukraine.

Last month, the Deputy Minister of Reconstruction stated that Kyiv would insist on extending the agreement for at least a year. It was also known that Ukraine wants to involve Mykolaiv port in the Initiative.

It will be recalled that the Black Sea Grain Initiative was created through the mediation of the UN and Turkey in July of last year and was extended in November. If an extension of the Initiative is not agreed upon, it will expire on March 18.

At the same time, russia stated that it would agree to continue the initiative if the interests of its agricultural producers are taken into account.

It is worth noting that the West did not impose direct sanctions against the export of russian food. At the same time, most states simply refuse to buy food from terrorist countries.
