Ukraine is conducting difficult negotiations regarding the extension of the Grain Agrrements,- Podolyak
Ukraine is conducting complicated negotiations to ensure the continuation of the Istanbul Agreements, which provide for the export of agricultural products from three Ukrainian ports on the Black Sea.
Agreements expire on November 18-19. If the agreement is not extended, sea exports from Ukraine will decrease, which will affect the economy of the state and the world.
“We hope to extend the mandate to export grain from Ukrainian ports,” Mykhailo Podolyak, adviser to the head of the Office of the President, said in an interview with Bloomberg.
Podoliak refused to specify when any results of the negotiations can be expected, and called the negotiations “difficult.”
Ukraine does not negotiate directly with russia. There are subgroups that also include the UN and Turkey, the adviser to the head of the OP noted.
The Istanbul Agreements were signed by Ukraine, the UN and Turkey on July 22. Russia signed a mirror agreement with Turkey and the UN. The first ship as part of the “grain initiative” was sent from Ukraine on August 1.
So far, 260 vessels have been sent from Ukraine through the “grain corridor”. In total, they exported more than 6 million tons of grain.
