Ukraine is ready to open maritime drone technologies to Japan, — Zelenskyy

Ukraine is ready to open to Japan the technologies of naval drones that destroyed part of the Russian Black Sea Fleet.

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said this in an interview with Kyodo News.

He noted that Ukraine and Japan have good coordination in the energy and humanitarian areas, as well as at the embassy level in Ukraine. And if the countries open defense cooperation between them, it could become historic.

Japan is one of the countries that has licenses or its own production of missiles and air defense systems capable of countering ballistic threats. Therefore, Ukraine is interested in cooperating, having joint production or exchanging knowledge.

Zelenskyy stressed that in exchange, Ukraine is ready to open its technologies for the production of naval drones.

“We are ready to open our technologies — for example, naval drones for coastal protection. Without having our own fleet, we were able to destroy part of the Russian fleet in the Black Sea with the help of our naval drones. They do not approach our shores because of the capabilities of our naval drones,” he commented.

The President added that there are other things that could be useful for Japan: cybersecurity, interceptor drones, energy and critical infrastructure management in times of crisis, broader experience in modern warfare, etc.

Earlier, USM reported that the Russian Federation is increasing the production of naval drones for attacks on Ukrainian ports.
