Ukraine is ready to sue Poland over the grain embargo
Prime Minister Denys Shmyhal said that Ukraine will submit Poland to arbitration at the World Trade Organization over the grain embargo.
“Ukraine, despite the war and Russia’s blockade of our ports, complies with its obligations both under the Association Agreement with the EU and under the law of the World Trade Organization (WTO). We did not and do not intend to harm Polish farmers. We greatly appreciate the support from the Polish people and Polish families,” wrote Denys Shmyhal on the X social network (formerly Twitter).
According to him, in case of violation of trade law in the interests of “pre-election political populism”, Ukraine will be forced to turn to WTO arbitration for compensation for damages for violation of the norms of the General Agreement on Tariffs and Trade.
So, on October 15, 2023, another parliamentary election will be held in Poland to elect the entire composition of the Seimas and the Senate.
As previously reported by USM, Polish Prime Minister Mateusz Morawiecki said that his country will not abandon the embargo on the import of Ukrainian grain, even if it is lifted at the level of the European Union.
