Ukraine is ready to support Turkey’s initiative for a mutual moratorium on attacks on civilian vessels, commercial ports and energy infrastructure in the Black Sea.
This was said by the Ambassador of Ukraine to Turkey Nariman Dzhelyalov during a press briefing in Ankara.
According to him, Ukraine stands for freedom of civil navigation and is ready to cooperate with Turkey to improve the safety of maritime transportation.
Dzhelyalov also called on shipowners, operators and crews to take into account military risks and follow navigational warnings.
According to the ambassador, since the beginning of the full-scale war, Russia has damaged or destroyed at least 1,054 objects of Ukrainian port infrastructure and attacked 232 civilian vessels.
More than 30 such attacks occurred in the summer of 2026 alone. As a result of the strikes, 307 citizens of Ukraine and other countries were killed or injured.
