Ukraine nationalizes assets of Russian oligarch Deripaska

The total value of the nationalized assets is over UAH 2 billion.

The Supreme Anti-Corruption Court (SAC) has granted the claim of the Ministry of Justice, the Security Service of Ukraine reports.

“We are talking about over 550 thousand tons of bauxite and alumina, which was produced in Ukraine before the start of the full-scale war. Since then, they have been stored in the warehouses of the Mykolaiv Alumina Plant, which previously belonged to a Russian,” the report says.

The SBU noted that the products were used at the oligarch’s Russian factories to smelt aluminum, from which components for ballistic missiles, combat drones and radar systems are produced.

In particular, Deripaska is part of Putin’s inner circle and is one of the main “sponsors” of the Russian Federation’s war against Ukraine.

Recall that the arrested bauxite and alumina belonged to the oligarch from the Russian Federation through a controlled commercial structure registered in one of the EU countries. It was this company that acted as the formal customer for the products of the Mykolaiv Alumina Plant for further re-export to Deripaska’s Russian enterprises.
