Ukraine ranks first in the world in the production of sunflower oil

Ukraine is one of the leading countries in guaranteeing global food security. In particular, the country took first place in the world in the production of sunflower oil.

This was reported by  Taras Vysotskyi, Acting Minister of Agrarian Policy and Food of Ukraine.

According to him, from 2010 to 2021, the Ukrainian agricultural sector made a very significant leap in development. Currently, 17% of Ukrainians work in agriculture, the agricultural sector produces 19% of GDP.

“Another 70% of production is exported. These are among the highest indicators in Europe. Produced Ukrainian products are enough to feed about 400 million people,” said Taras Vysotskyi.

In particular, Ukraine traditionally exports grain and oil crops and many other products. Also, Ukraine ranks 4th in the world in corn exports, first in sunflower oil.
