Ukraine resumes corn exports to China, although demand remains low

Ukraine has shipped a shipment of corn to China after a long break, but this does not yet indicate a recovery in steady demand.

Ukraine recently shipped a shipment of corn to China after a long period of low demand. However, experts warn against excessive optimism, Elevatorist writes.

Thus, Argus Media senior analyst Oleksiy Yeremin emphasizes that this shipment is not evidence of a recovery in steady demand for Ukrainian corn from China. The market situation remains difficult – especially when one Panamax shipment attracts such disproportionate attention.

Earlier, ASAP Agri reported that a significant increase in demand for corn from China is unlikely. The export in question was made at the expense of an open quota of the buyer, who tried to use it by the end of the year in order to avoid a reduction in the import quota next year.

The day before, USM wrote that corn prices at Ukrainian ports continue to grow. The main reasons for the increase in grain prices are limited supply from farmers and increased competition for agricultural products.
