Ukraine set an export record in October: deliveries increased to $3.8 billion

Ukrainian exports in October became the highest for the entire year, reaching $3.8 billion, which is 18.7% more than in September.

In general, since the beginning of the year, the export of goods from Ukraine has approached the mark of $34.6 billion, the Ministry of Economy reported.

The growth of exports became possible due to the increase in the supply of agricultural products, the volume of which in October increased by 32.3% in monetary terms and by 33.8% in weight. The total volume of physical exports reached 10.9 million tons, which is 26.2% more compared to the previous month.

Economy Minister Yuliya Svyridenko also noted that this result was made possible thanks to the safe operation of the sea corridor, despite the threat from the aggressor country. Sea exports in October increased by 28.2% in monetary terms and by 37.1% in weight.

According to forecasts of the Minister of Economy, this year’s exports may exceed the figures of 2023 ($36.2 billion). In ten months of 2024, Ukraine has already exported 110 million tons of goods, which is more than for the whole of last year (100 million tons).

The largest export goods in October were sunflower oil ($447.2 million), corn ($363.6 million), wheat ($318.2 million), soybeans ($260 million), rapeseed ($239.2 million) and iron ore ($166 .8 million). The main buyers of Ukrainian goods were EU countries (in particular, Poland, Germany, Spain, Italy) and Turkey. In total, exports to the EU in October amounted to $2.38 billion, which is 15.8% more than in September.

“The European Union is our key trading partner, and we are doing everything possible to facilitate the access of Ukrainian exporters to the European market,” said Deputy Minister of Economy Taras Kachka.

Previously, USM reported that in October Ukraine exported almost 4 million tons of agricultural products.
