Ukraine wants to join the Trans-Pacific Partnership agreement


Ukraine can join the Trans-Pacific Partnership agreement. President Volodymyr Zelenskyy approved the composition of the delegation to participate in the negotiations.

The head of the delegation was appointed Minister of Economy Yulia Svyridenko, reports the  the website of the head of the state . The delegation also included six officials — representatives of the Ministry of Economy, the Ministry of Justice, the Ministry of Agrarian Policy, the State Customs Service and the Office of the President.

The head of state also approved the directives of the delegation, but they are marked “For official use”.

The Ministry of Economy of Ukraine expects to enter into the Trans-Pacific Partnership agreement at the beginning of 2024, the ministry’s press service reported.

“At the same time, there is a prospect of joining the Agreement already this year. This will give Ukraine the opportunity to liberalize non-tariff restrictions in trade in goods and services with the countries of this region, as well as open access to new sales markets. In addition, it will enable us to expand access to direct foreign investments,” Yuliya Svyridenko said.
