Ukraine will suspend direct deliveries of grain to Poland
Due to the crisis in the Polish agricultural market, Ukraine will refrain from direct export of some types of agricultural products until the new season. The transit of Ukrainian agricultural products will not stop.
During the next week, Ukraine and Poland will develop new rules for the transit of Ukrainian agricultural products. The transit procedure will be simplified to eliminate traffic downtime and queues at checkpoints. In addition, Ukraine will suspend grain exports to Poland until the new season. This was reported by the Ministry of Agrarian Policy and Food of Ukraine on April 7.
“The situation is difficult for the Ukrainian farmer, but obviously also for the Polish one. We all understand who is to blame for this, but it is up to us to solve this issue. The Ukrainian side will refrain from exporting four crops to Poland – wheat, corn, sunflower and rapeseed – until the new season,” said Minister of Agricultural Policy Mykola Solskyi.
The Ministry recommended that exporters redirect cargo through other countries while new rules are being developed.
It will be recalled that in 2022 direct export of Ukrainian agricultural products to Poland reached the mark of 2.6 billion dollars – 1.6 times more than the year before.
USM recently wrote that Slovakia is strengthening transit control of Ukrainian grain through its territory.
