Ukrainian and Portuguese seafarers’ unions sign memorandum

The Trade Union of Maritime Transport Workers of Ukraine has signed a memorandum with a Portuguese trade union.
The signing of the Memorandum of Cooperation with the Portuguese trade union FESMAR was reported by the MTWTU.
The document provides for the interaction of trade unions within the Portline company.
The memorandum guarantees that all Ukrainian seafarers working in this company under FESMAR contracts will have access to additional social benefits that the MTWTU provides to its members.
Earlier, the USM reported that the Netherlands and Ukraine will mutually recognize seafarers’ documents.
Such an interdepartmental agreement provides the opportunity for Ukrainian seafarers to receive confirmation of qualification documents and to find employment on foreign ships faster.
