Direct losses of the agricultural sector have already exceeded 6.6 billion dollars, indirect losses amount to 34 billion dollars.

Before the full-scale invasion, approximately 40% of all Ukrainian exports were agricultural products. Ukraine was the world leader in the export of many crops and fed 400 million people in the world. Now we are observing a reduction of the sown area for winter crops by approximately 30-35%, said the Deputy Minister of Agrarian Policy and Food of Ukraine Denys Bashlyk.

About 6.6 billion dollars of direct losses are destroyed granaries, agricultural machinery, stolen or destroyed products. We also have indirect damages: it can be lost profits, environmental damages, etc. At that time (in the fall, editor’s note), they reached approximately 34 billion dollars, the government official added.
