Ukrainian farmers will be able to plan investments in irrigation, — Svyrydenko

Prime Minister of Ukraine Yulia Svyrydenko met with entrepreneurs from Mykolaiv and Kherson regions.
“Doing business in these regions is a significant challenge. In addition to shelling, the risk of losing people, equipment or crops, drought is also added,” Svyrydenko wrote on Facebook.
Important news for farmers was the government’s decision to allocate UAH 34 million to fill the cascade of reservoirs in Mykolaiv region. This will make it possible to provide irrigation for the next season.
“We are working to ensure that the water supply of areas suffering from droughts is stable, so that farmers can plan investments in irrigation,” the Prime Minister noted.
Irrigation is not the only problem that worries entrepreneurs from frontline areas. There is also the unwillingness of banks to lend due to high risks, the need for recovery after arrivals and property insurance, compensation for lost crops and land withdrawal for the needs of fortifications, restrictions on foreign exchange earnings, mined territories.
Svyrydenko’s team agreed with entrepreneurs and heads of the Regional Military Administration on specific steps to solve these problems. The policy of supporting front-line territories will include a business support component.
Yulia Svyrydenko also said that she presented the already existing support programs, united by the policy of developing Ukrainian producers “Made in Ukraine”. These are localization in public procurement, available loans “5-7-9”, grants for the development of the processing industry and grants for restoration, industrial parks, etc. Most of them have separate parameters for front-line territories. Based on the proposals of producers from such regions, they will be further improved in the near future.
