Ukrainian grain does not harm the Polish agricultural market
The impact of Ukrainian exports on the reduction of grain prices in Poland is not significant.
The statement that the import of Ukrainian agricultural products to Poland is allegedly a decisive factor affecting the situation of Polish farmers is not true. “Ukrinform” writes about this with reference to the Institute of Public Finance (IPF) in Poland.
According to the report of Polish experts, the statement that part of Ukrainian grain is sent to Poland via other countries, in particular Lithuania, is also false.
IPF analysts emphasized that the embargo on Ukrainian grain will not help Polish farmers, especially in the conditions of the single agricultural market of the EU, since prices depend on many factors, including the situation in the world.
IPF experts emphasize that the most popular among Polish protesters were two theses: to ban the import of agricultural products from Ukraine and to abandon the “green course” of the EU. At the same time, few voiced the thesis about the low profitability of growing agricultural crops.
