Ukrainian naval drones can join the defense of the Strait of Hormuz, — Zelenskyy

Ukraine is considering the possibility of joining international efforts to protect shipping in the Strait of Hormuz.

President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy said that Ukraine may join international initiatives to ensure security in the Strait of Hormuz. This is reported by Ukrinform.

According to him, this concerns both expert support and potential participation in practical operations, in particular, with the use of naval drones in convoys.

The President specified that the issue of security in Hormuz was discussed during an international summit with the participation of European, Asian and Pacific countries. The next stage is a meeting of military representatives in London, to which Ukraine was also invited.

Separately, Zelenskyy emphasized the development of Ukrainian capabilities in the field of maritime mine clearance. According to him, Ukraine already has five minesweepers, and in the summer the relevant units will be fully ready to perform tasks.

The day before, USM reported that due to the US delay of an Iranian vessel, traffic in the Strait of Hormuz had stopped.
