Ukrainian ports increased transshipment by over 35% despite shelling

In April, Ukrainian seaports handled 8.2 million tons of cargo, which is 35.8% more than in the same period last year.
This occurred despite a significant increase in attacks on port infrastructure, the USPA reported.
The intensity of drone attacks is increasing: in April alone, more than 500 UAVs were recorded on logistics infrastructure. In fact, ports were attacked every other day. Despite security risks and regular shelling, port workers ensured the continuity of the industry and the fulfillment of foreign trade contracts.
In general, in January-April 2026, Ukrainian seaports handled 29.5 million tons of cargo, which exceeds the indicator for the same period in 2025.
The basis of cargo flow was traditionally formed by grain – 16 million tons, which is 7% more than last year.
