“Ukrzaliznytsia” introduced new restrictions on two terminals in the port of Izmail
Since May 12, “Ukrzaliznytsia” has introduced a conventional ban on the transportation of agricultural products in the direction of the port of Izmail.
During the meeting of representatives of JSC “Ukrzaliznytsia” and farmers, a decision was made to introduce a convention ban. We are talking about the transportation of wheat and corn in the direction of the Izmail station, writes Rail.insider .
On Friday, May 12, this restriction came into effect. It applies to two companies – MBPP “Efes” and LLC “Riv. A. Holding”.
According to Ivan Yemeets, deputy director of the Odesa Railway regional branch for logistics and work with ferries, more than 2,300 wagons with grain are currently heading in the direction of Izmail.
“Of these, almost 800 units are moving to the address of two companies. MBPP “Efes” expects 500 wagons, and LLC “Riv. A. Holding” — 280. So, restrictions have been introduced for them. Currently, grain unloading is only 76 wagons per day. The estimated waiting time in the queue exceeds 31 days. At the same time, the average daily load in the direction of the port reaches 138 cars,” emphasized Ivan Yemets.
Farmers were also urged to refrain from sending grain in the direction of Izmail. If the situation worsens, the carrier company does not exclude the introduction of additional conventions.
As previously reported by USM, as of May 8, the queue to the port of Izmail was at least 27 days.
