Ukrzaliznytsia transported a record amount of meal in 2025


Last year, JSC Ukrzaliznytsia exported 2.79 million tons of meal — 3.2% more than a year earlier.

The 2025 figure is the best in the last five years, AgroPortal reports, citing Valeriy Tkachev, Deputy Director of the Department of Transportation Technology and Commercial Work of UZ.

Thus, in 2025, Ukrzaliznytsia exported 2.79 million tons of meal. The growth was 87.4 thousand tons compared to the 2024 figure.

According to Tkachev, last year, Ukrzaliznytsia recorded the third historic result in its entire history. More meal for export by rail was exported only in 2019 and 2020.

Tkachev specified that of the 2.79 million tons, 71% was exported through land western crossings, through which 1.98 million tons of meal were exported. 29% of the meal was exported through ports — 810.6 thousand tons.

Earlier, USM reported that Ukrzaliznytsia suffered more than $5.8 billion in losses from Russian attacks.
