Ukrzaliznytsia will ban the transportation of grain in private semi-wagons

JSC “Ukrzaliznytsia” will soon ban the transportation of grain in semi-wagons of the private fleet. The innovation, first of all, aims to “observe transportation technology.”

The ban on the transportation of grain will also expect cement trucks and mineral trucks in the future. This was announced by Oleksandr Kamyshin, the chairman of the board of JSC “Ukrzaliznytsia” during the meeting of the Export Office at the UZ, reports Rail.insider

“We will remove all such rolling stock from the grain and return it to where it should be. On the 349th day of the war, it is necessary to return to technology. It is important for me that we travel, that the correct technology of transportation takes place,” Oleksandr Kamyshin emphasized.

The head of the UZ added that the possibility of transportation in semi-wagons was provided due to the need to export the crop. “When there was a unique situation, when it was difficult to take out both the old crop and the new one, we gave the opportunity to transport it in semi-trailers,” he said.

Vyacheslav Yeromin, a member of the board of the UZ, added that currently grain trucks cannot compete with semi-wagons. According to him, grain semi-cars are currently being loaded under conditions of previously agreed plans and already submitted wagons for loading. The complete ban should come into effect on March 1.
