US auctions yacht of sanctioned Russian oligarch Suleiman Kerimov

The superyacht will be tried to be sold on September 10, and the starting price of the lot is $325 million, which will be sent to humanitarian aid to Ukraine.
This was reported the presidential commissioner for sanctions policy Vladyslav Vlasyuk.
Vlasyuk recalled that the 106-meter superyacht Amadea was officially confiscated by the United States on May 23, 2024 as part of the sanctions program against Russian businessmen. Now the US Department of Justice has proven that the vessel belonged to Kerimov, despite attempts to hide ownership through front persons.
It is currently known that the auction is scheduled for September 10. The starting price is $325 million. Participation only with a deposit of $10 million. According to the law, the proceeds from the sale must go to humanitarian aid to Ukraine.
“The initiative was provided for by an American law passed in 2024, which allows the transfer of proceeds from seized Russian assets to support Ukrainians — this is the model that was used before. In April 2023, the State Department announced the first such transfer — $5.4 million confiscated from Konstantin Malofeev went to Ukraine,” Vlasyuk noted.
Recall that in October 2023, the New York prosecutor’s office filed a lawsuit to confiscate the 106-meter superyacht Amadea worth more than $300 million.
It is also known that US citizens pay $600 thousand per month for the maintenance of the superyacht “Amadea”. As of the end of 2024, these expenses had already reached $30 million.
