USAID suspends funding for projects in Ukraine
The United States Agency for International Development (USAID) in Ukraine has received an order to suspend funding for all projects.
This order is related to the order of the US State Department to suspend assistance programs to other countries for 90 days, Suspilne writes.
One of the employees of the USAID office in Kyiv said that the agency does not yet have detailed instructions on how they plan to implement the directive and whether there will be exceptions.
According to media reports, Ukrainian organizations are receiving letters about the need to suspend activities funded by USAID or organizations dependent on American funding.
It is worth noting that USAID in Ukraine supports the restoration of schools, the provision of medical services, and the repair of the critical energy system. In particular, the Agency has attracted more than $500 million to support Ukrainian farmers and shipping routes.
As a reminder, on January 20, US President Donald Trump signed an executive order temporarily suspending all US foreign assistance programs for 90 days pending inspections to determine whether they meet his political goals.
