USAID will allocate $250 million to support Ukrainian farmers and modernize ports

USAID will allocate an additional 250 million dollars to support agriculture in Ukraine.

The new USAID aid program includes, among other things, a number of measures to modernize port and railway infrastructure.

This was stated by USAID administrator Samantha Power at a briefing in Odesa port on July 18, USPA  reported.

In her address at the press briefing, the US Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary to Ukraine Bridget Brink emphasized that the United States will continue to support Ukraine.

On behalf of the Ukrainian side, the Minister of Community Development, Territories and Infrastructure of Ukraine Oleksandr Kubrakov took part in the briefing.

Recalling the statement of the aggressor country about withdrawing from the Grain Agreement, Kubrakov noted that Ukraine’s position, announced the day before by President Zelenskyi, envisages the continuation of the Black Sea Grain Initiative without Russia, based on the agreement between Ukraine, Turkey and the UN.

Also, as part of the visit to Odesa port, a meeting of the guests with the management of USPA and representatives of the agricultural sector of Southern Ukraine took place.

Previously, USM reported that the USAID program for agrarian and rural development will provide UAH 367 million to support the processing of grain, oil and leguminous crops in Ukraine.
