USDA lowers forecast for Ukrainian wheat exports in 2025/26 MY

USDA analysts in their April report lowered their estimate of wheat exports from Ukraine in the 2025/26 MY to 12.5 million tons compared to 13.5 million tons forecast in March.

This is stated in the report of the US Department of Agriculture (USDA) for April.

According to the updated USDA forecasts, in the 2026/26 MY, Ukraine’s wheat and corn production figures remain at a stable level of 24.0 million tons and 30.7 million tons, respectively.

At the same time, corn exports are still forecast at 22.0 million tons, and wheat exports have been reduced by 1.0 million tons to 12.5 million tons.

Analysts also reduced their estimate of barley exports to 2.2 million tons, which is 0.3 million tons less. The production forecast for this crop remains at 5.6 million tons.

Recall, USDA previously reduced the forecast for Ukrainian corn exports for the 2025/26 MY. In the February report, the corn harvest in Ukraine was left at 29 million tons, but the export forecast was reduced to 22 million tons.
