USPA plans to update technical and pilot fleet for almost UAH 2 billion

The Ukrainian Sea Ports Authority is attracting funding from the European Commission to upgrade its technical and pilot fleet.
Thanks to Cabinet Resolution No. 1475, the USPA has been able to attract funds from the European Commission to modernize its own fleet, the state-owned enterprise reported.
This concerns the upgrade of technical vessels and pilot boats, which ensure the safety of navigation and the stable operation of sea and river routes.
As part of the project, the USPA announced the purchase of a modern self-propelled bilge dredger with a dredger, as well as two new pilot boats up to 20 meters long. The tender terms provide for the participation of both Ukrainian and foreign companies, which opens up the opportunity to attract the best global solutions and manufacturers.
The expected cost of the dredger purchase is over UAH 1.47 billion. The cost of the two pilot boats is over UAH 415.5 million. Proposals for both tenders are accepted until January 15.
Also, within the framework of the implementation of the same resolution, the USPA announced the purchase of boom barriers for the arrangement of port infrastructure facilities and port water areas. The specified equipment is intended to increase the level of protection of port water areas, localize possible threats and enhance shipping safety in martial law conditions. The expected cost is UAH 24.9 million. Applications are accepted until January 13.
Earlier, USM reported that the USPA transferred five vehicles to the military to strengthen port protection.
