USPA: sea ports of Ukraine are able to increase the potential of agricultural exports
Currently, the ports of Ukraine are not yet loaded to their full capacity and are ready to increase the potential of grain export transportation.
This was announced by the head of SE “Ukrainian Sea Ports Authority” Yuriy Lytvyn at a meeting of the UGA Grain Club, Interfax reports.
According to him, the potential of transportation, in particular, from Odesa is much greater. This is proven by the record results of the maritime corridor in December 2023. At the same time, agricultural exports decreased in January, as this is the month of traditional decline in sea transportation.

In particular, the increase in the delivery of grain cargoes to the ports of Great Odesa by both rail and road transport is recorded.
“Currently, the port of Chornomorsk has increased the number of cars accepted five times compared to the pre-war period. However, unfortunately, bulk cargo is not very good for Chornomorsk itself. There are some difficulties with the organization of the process,” said the head of the USPA.
Currently, the “Pivdennyi” port is used at 30-48% of its potential for receiving grain cargoes. Also, the Ministry of Reconstruction, the Armed Forces, and the Ukrainian Armed Forces are working to expand the acceptance of cargo that may be damaged by Russian shelling.
“I mean container and ferry transportation,” Lytvyn emphasized.
As previously reported by USM, losses from Russian attacks on Ukrainian ports reach UAH 1 billion.
