USPA will purchase a new vessel for Danube Ports

The Ukrainian Sea Ports Authority (USPA) has announced the purchase of a multifunctional vessel for ports on the Danube River.
The tender was announced within the framework of the RELINC program with financial support from the International Bank for Reconstruction and Development, the Ukrainian Sea Ports Authority reports.
The issue concerns the purchase of a specialized oil recovery vessel for ports on the Danube River.
The multifunctional vessel will perform several key tasks:
• collection of oil products and garbage from the water surface;
• working as a tug-edger for maneuvering vessels;
• participating in fire suppression on vessels and port facilities.
“This will increase the resilience of ports to environmental and technical challenges and ensure a rapid response to emergencies in wartime,” the USPA emphasized.
The procurement is being carried out through Prozorro in accordance with World Bank standards and transparency principles. The cost of the vessel is not currently disclosed.
We remind you that at the end of February, the State Enterprise “USPA” announced the first purchase within the framework of the international RELINC project – an ice-class tugboat.
