UZ launched a cargo flight between the ports of Ukraine and Romania

The new service should strengthen cargo connections between Ukrainian and Romanian ports, in particular via the route from Constanta to Ukraine.
JSC Ukrzaliznytsia, together with its subsidiary UZ Cargo Poland, has launched a regular cargo flight between Ukraine and Romania. This was reported by the press service of Ukrzaliznytsia.
As part of the new service, a complex transportation of oversized cargo — sheet metal — from the port of Constanta to the Perechyn station in a direct connection has already been carried out.
Transportation is carried out through the Halmeu and Diakovo border crossings, which should provide a more flexible and stable connection between Romanian ports and Ukraine.
For the flight from the Chop-Liski station to the port of Constanta, UZ used 60-foot fitting platforms with a wooden floor. At the border, they were transferred from 1520 mm gauge bogies to the European 1435 mm gauge.
UZ emphasizes that such an operation takes only a few hours and does not require reloading of goods. This allows to reduce time, costs for transshipment and the use of additional materials.
Also, recently, Ukrzaliznytsia allowed to combine cargoes in one E-order.
