UZ limited grain transportation to Hungary

“Ukrzaliznytsia” introduced a convention for freight transportation of agricultural products to Hungary until September.

The restrictions apply to the transportation of wheat and meslin, corn, and sunflower seeds to Hungary, the company’s website says. The convention will be valid for the carrier MMV ZAO (MMV Magyar Maganvasut Zrt) from June 30 to September 16.

In addition, since June 29, Ukrzaliznytsia has introduced a convention for cargo transportation bound for Iran. It applies to all shipments from any country and will be valid until canceled.

USM previously reported that Hungarian officials insist on extending restrictions on the import of at least two crops from Ukraine — sunflower and corn.

The Government of Hungary believes that such measures will help the EU prepare for the presence of Ukrainian agricultural products on the European market. At the same time, Ukrainian grain must be sent to the markets of third world countries.
