Vaskov: ports on the Danube process 120,000 tons of cargo per day
Yurii Vaskov spoke about the main achievements in the direction of increasing the turnover of Ukrainian exports.
According to the Deputy Minister of Community Development, Territories and Infrastructure, increasing exports is one of the main components of Ukraine’s economic recovery.
“Today, the Ukrainian corridor – a temporary sea route through the Black Sea – is working systematically. Almost 250 vessels have already used it since August. These are more than 10 million cargoes, of which 6 million are agricultural products. At present, the rate of export growth has already significantly exaggerated the rate of export growth within the framework of the Grain Initiative,” the press service of the Ministry of Reconstruction quotes Vaskova as saying.
Vaskov also noted that Ukraine continues to develop alternative export routes.
“We focused on the seaports of the Danube cluster. Before the war, exports through this direction amounted to 1.5% of the total volume, at the same time, thanks to the development of ports on the Danube, this indicator increased to 30%,” Yurii Vaskov noted.
According to the deputy minister, the significant reorientation of exports through the Danube ports and the measures taken to develop them led to a record number of cargo transshipments in this direction – 120,000 tons per day.
“Despite the functioning of the Ukrainian corridor, the development of the ports of the Danube cluster remains one of the priorities of the Ministry of Reconstruction for 2024,” Vaskov summarized.
