Verkhovna Rada approved sanctions against Russian shadow fleet vessels

The new law allows the blocking of vessels transporting weapons, military personnel, or working for the Russian Federation in circumvention of sanctions.
This was reported by People’s Deputy Oleksiy Honcharenko.
On July 16, the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine supported in the second reading a bill that allows the application of sanctions to vessels and aircraft participating in the military logistics of the Russian Federation.
Vessels that violate international sanctions, transship Russian oil, or are operated in the interests of the Russian Federation are also subject to restrictions.
291 people’s deputies voted in favor of the document.
The Security Service of Ukraine will record the relevant violations. The collected information will be transferred to the State Register of Sanctions.
The day before, USM wrote that analysts had exposed the routes of a “shadow” Russian tanker that was exporting oil to China, spying in the Baltics.
