Vitalii Koval became the new Minister of Agricultural Policy of Ukraine


The former head of the State Property Fund, Vitaliy Koval, was appointed Minister of Agrarian Policy and Food.

The Verkhovna Rada made such a decision on Thursday, September 5, People’s Deputy Yaroslav Zheleznyak reported.

In the morning, the Verkhovna Rada’s Committee on Agrarian and Land Policy recommended the appointment of Vitalii Koval to the post of Minister of Agricultural Policy.

The other day, Koval wrote a resignation letter, but the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine did not support him the first time.

Vitalii Koval (43 years old) is the former head of Rivne Regional Administartion. He graduated from the Ternopil Academy of National Economy, majoring in “Banking”, majoring in “Economist”. MBA (Master of Business Administration) of the Lviv Business School of the Ukrainian Catholic University, member of the academic council of the UCU Business School. Graduated from Aspen Institute Kyiv.

From 2004 to 2006, Koval worked in the banking sector, in particular in the credit department of JSC “Ukrgasbank” and LLC “Probank Consult”. In 2006-2019, he headed enterprises in the agrarian, transport and construction industries (Investtradeservice LLC, Sanako LLC, VVV Montage).

Koval became the head of the State Property Fund at the end of 2023. Before him, the Fund was headed by Rustem Umyerov, who is currently the Minister of Defense of Ukraine.

On May 9, Mykola Solskyi was dismissed from the post of Minister of Agrarian Policy and Food of Ukraine.

It will be recalled that on April 23 NABU accused the Minister of Agricultural Policy of seizing state land worth UAH 291 million and attempting to seize land worth another UAH 190 million.
