Weapons were imported from the DPRK: new Russian companies came under sanctions

In total, Great Britain imposed sanctions against 50 individuals and legal entities from Russia.

Great Britain has applied sanctions against Russian companies related to the military industry, as well as against importers of metals, diamonds and energy carriers. This is stated on the website of the British government.

In particular, London introduced restrictions against the companies “Azia Shipping Company” and “Ibex Shipping INC”, which participate in the supply of weapons from the DPRK to Russia. In total, as of the end of last year, the DPRK transferred more than a thousand containers of ammunition to Russia by sea.

Sanctions were also introduced against the companies “Fractal Marine DMCC”, “Beks Ship Management” and “Active Shipping”, which work in the Russian energy sector as part of the shadow fleet.

The same list includes 6 directors of the Novatek gas production company, the Arctic LNG 2 energy company, the “AGD Diamonds” and “Alrosa” diamond mining companies, as well as the metallurgical company “Mechel”.

“This package of sanctions is part of the UK’s wider efforts to limit Russia’s revenue for waging war and stop its repeated attempts to evade Western sanctions,” the statement said. “We are preparing to strengthen measures already in place to combat malicious Russian shipping activities and individual “shadow fleet” vessels that Russia uses to soften the blow of sanctions against its oil business.”

Also, 14 individuals and companies related to the production of rockets, projectiles and explosives were sanctioned.

At the same time, the Turkish electronics supplier “Cozum Yazilim Donanim Elektronik” and three Chinese companies, one of which, “Beijing Micropilot Flight Control Systems”, is engaged in the production of engines for drones, were also affected by the restrictions.

Sanctions were also imposed against the oil trader Paramount Energy & Commodities SA, which facilitates the unhindered trade of Rosneft outside the scope of the Great Britain and G7 sanctions.

Previously, USM wrote that the United States imposed new sanctions against a network of international companies that were involved in Rosneft smuggling.
