Wheat prices rise in Ukrainian ports due to increased demand

Wheat prices (CPT-port basis) increased by 50-150 UAH/t, reaching the range of 9900-10300 UAH/t.

An increase in purchase prices for food wheat was recorded in the ports of Great Odesa and Danube. This is evidenced by APK-Inform data.

The price increase is caused by increased demand from importers who urgently purchase grain to fulfill previously concluded contracts. At the same time, the limited supply of wheat on the market and currency fluctuations may continue to support the price trend.

Thus, in the ports of Great Odesa, purchase prices increased by 1-2 USD/t, reaching 208-215 USD/t CPT-port as of December 26, 2024. In the ports of Danube, prices increased by 2 USD/t and are currently fixed within the range of 209-215 USD/t CPT-port.

Wheat prices in UAH (CPT-port basis) increased by 50-150 UAH/t, reaching the range of 9900-10300 UAH/t. The minimum prices were mostly declarative in nature and were close to the prices for feed wheat. Recently, USM reported that Ukraine plans to export over 40 million tons of grain in the 2024/25 MY.
