World Bank receives $20 billion for Ukraine from frozen Russian assets
Frozen Russian assets worth $20 billion have already been transferred to the World Bank account to support Ukraine.
This was announced by the President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy in an evening video address.
In addition, Ukraine will strengthen cooperation with the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD). Thanks to these programs, it is planned to significantly increase energy capacity and implement energy efficiency projects next year, the head of state noted.
As USM reported, the G7 previously agreed to allocate $50 billion from frozen Russian assets to Ukraine. These funds will be used to finance the needs of the Ukrainian budget, military support, and the country’s reconstruction.
