Zelenskyy called on the G7 to establish a “price ceiling” for oil and gas from russia

President Volodymyr Zelenskyy insists on symmetrical sanctions of the “Big Seven” countries against russia, in connection with its latest terrorist attacks on the territory of Ukraine.

Zelenskyy also called on the G7 countries to establish strict price limits for the export of russian oil and gas.

The President stated this during an online speech at the G7 meeting.

“When russia attacks the energy sector and the energy stability of our countries, it is necessary to block its energy sector with sanctions, to break the stability of russian revenues from oil and gas trade. A strict price ceiling is needed for the export of oil and gas from russia – zero profit for the terrorist state,” Zelenskyy said.

We would like to remind, that at the end of September, the G7 countries adopted a plan to limit the price for the purchase of russian oil. According to the US Treasury, the plan to implement a “price ceiling” will enable 50 developing countries to save about $160 billion a year.

In October, the oil exporting countries (OPEC+) agreed to reduce oil production to 2 million barrels per day. USM told how this will affect the West’s plans to introduce a price ceiling for russian oil.
