Zelenskyy commented on the Russian Federation’s statement on withdrawing from the Grain Agreement
The President of Ukraine, Volodymyr Zelenskyy, stated that there were no agreements between Ukraine and the Russian Federation, as these are two different agreements.
Also, according to the President, Ukraine is ready to export grain by sea, even if the Russian Federation breaks the agreement, Zelenskyy’s press secretary Serhiy Nikiforov reports.
“We had two agreements: Ukraine, Turkey, UN; another agreement – Russia, Turkey, UN. Therefore, when Russia says that it is stopping, it is breaking its agreements with UN Secretary General Guterres and President Erdogan. Not with us. We did not have any agreements with them,” Zelenskyy said in an interview with journalists from Africa.
Volodymyr Zelenskyy also ordered the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine, after the official signal of the Russian Federation, to prepare an appeal to the UN and Turkey.
“In order for them to answer me as the president of Ukraine, that they are ready to continue our initiative. Even without the Russian Federation, everything must be done so that we can use this Black Sea corridor. We are not afraid. We were approached by companies that own ships. They said that they are ready, if Ukraine lets go, and Turkey continues to let go, then everyone is ready to continue supplying grain,” the President of Ukraine emphasized.
