Zelenskyy signed a law allowing the sending of units of the Ukrainian Armed Forces to other countries

Military personnel will be sent for naval exercises to Turkey and the United Kingdom.

This is stated in the card of the bill No. 14059.

On Wednesday, October 22, the President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy signed a law that allows sending units of the Naval Forces of the Armed Forces to other states during martial law.

The explanatory note to the document states that Ukrainian military personnel will be sent for training to Turkey and the United Kingdom. This will contribute to obtaining complex military equipment and mastering its use.

The draft law proposes sending the Ukrainian Navy corvette “Hetman Ivan Mazepa” to Turkey with a crew of up to 106 servicemen. The ships “Cherkasy”, “Chernihiv”, “Mariupol”, “Melitopol” and “Genichesk” with crews of 39 people each will be sent to the United Kingdom.

As a reminder, the corvette “Hetman Ivan Mazepa” for the Ukrainian Navy was built in Turkey. The contract for the construction of the ship was signed by the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine with Turkish companies in December 2020.

The corvette hull is made of steel, which was produced even before the full-scale war at MMKI and Azovstal of the Metinvest Group.
