Biden extended the ban on the entry of russian ships to US ports for a year
US President Joe Biden extended the ban on russian ships entering US ports.
The ban will resume after April 21 and last for another year, the White House said in a statement.
Last March, dockers from 29 ports located on the West Coast of the USA wrote a letter in support of Ukraine. The letter was brought aboard a ship with a Ukrainian crew in Seattle.
Then colleagues of Ukrainian sailors announced in a letter that they “will not touch” russian ships and cargo.
in April of last year, the USA introduced sanctions against the russian maritime industry. On April 21, 2022, Joe Biden announced that the U.S. would ban Russian-rffiliated ships from entering its ports.
It will be recalled that in 2021, russian vessels made about 1,800 calls to American ports.
The ports of the EU countries closed access for russian vessels from April 17, 2022.
